Getting frig filter out
I've got a Kitchen Aid refrigerator with chilled water and ice maker. It's time to change the filter, which is located in the grill on the bottom of the unit. It's supposed to twist out, but mine won't budge. It doesn't feel too sturdy, so I don't want to break it.
Anybody here ever run into this problem? If so, what did you do to get the old filter out? Thanks. Dee

It's not 'threaded' like a bolt, but turns a quarter turn and should let go. Push in on it hard when you are turning it and see if that helps. And remember, righty tighty, lefty loosy I just changed mine and it was kind of hard to get out too.

Thanks, JD. I'll try it again when I get home tonight. I assumed it was a bayonet-type connection, but was afraid of twisting it too hard. All-righty, . . . er, I mean all-lefty.

It's stuck from being in the same place for years. Put some petroleum jelly on the o-ring when you reinstall it.
