I personally think the SAT is bunk because it tests knowledge in a very limited way.

I took it three times before finally getting a combined score of only 940.

I then went on to get a degree from George Mason University with academic honors.:) :)

'Cause you put your back into it. Good grades are the result of desire and hard work more than aptitude. I've seen more than one brilliant guy fail miserably in school because he refused to put in the effort.

You've got that right!!

I actually left out the fact that I first FAILED out of college TWICE before getting my act together and finishing with honors.

Yup, it really comes down to both desire and willpower.

That's a great lesson you learned the hard way (the hard way is the only way that removes all doubt, IMO), that you can now easily apply to all aspects of your life. You're way ahead of the game, my friend.

Do us all a favor. Don't shoot yourself in the head. You still have to finish that luggage rack.:D

Besides it would be a hell of a mess for your parents to clean up.

Good for you, nice to hear something positive for a change. Oh, as to walking into a bullet may I suggest a more time-proven method of assuaging your angst and pressure by getting laid first and drunk or stoned afterwards?Always worked for me when under extreme duress.

Best of luck whatever method presents itself short of the long goodbye:D

im just very nervouse about college zeroing in on my SAT/ACT scores and not noticing my 3.85 GPA, honors classes, AP classes, extra curricular, volunteer and my sports.. im not perfect but i work hard and do more than everyone else
i think the reason i have scored so crappy is because i get nervouse... aka test anxiety.. they make is sound like if you dont get a 1100 or higher your going to be working at mcdonalds for the rest of your life.

on the roofrack are you interested in it? cuz im bending up the conduit tomorrow

I may be wrong, but I think that your highest math and highest verbal are what counts in the score department. At least my daughter's school (U of Del.) looked at them that way. I guess that's to allow for "bad test days"

Your test scores are just one of the criteria looked at. High School grades and courses taken (AP, etc) and the reputation of your high school in getting students accepted to particular colleges also weigh heavily.

Extra-carricular activities are harder to judge and to give an opinion on.

If you have a burning desire to go somewhere, requesting an interview with a representative of the school couldn't hurt. It may put you over the top.

Good luck in your pursuits.:)
BTW: Are you still interested in the USMA?

well here is what the low down is... they wanted me to register with them before i sent in for a congressional nomination.. they asked my class rank(top 9%) my grades, my SAT/ACT scores... and based on those im not what they want.. what they want are kids that are top 2% perfect 4.5 GPA(which is possible) 1300's or higher and more extra curricular activities... which i say to them.. fcuck you..

i just need to get into college i dont care which
