I think it's a good sign. There seem to be two basic attitudes about money: Pessimistic and Optimistic, and people tend to fall anywhere between this continuum. I guess the same could be said for lots of things, but I think it applies especially well when it comes to money.

Your kids are probably more optimistic about money than most. Money is not a limiting factor in their lives, and they probably view it as something easily obtained. When faced with a choice of saving enough to purchase something or going out and making more, they'd probably choose to go out and make more. They may be less stingy with their money when it comes to giving, and they're probably free of that sense of entitlement which has many people by the nuts.

Lucky you, go with the flow.

I did spend a couple years in KY
It only takes one "human kid" to see if you are affected or not. For many, parenthood has totally changed and refocused their lives. You cannot help changing at least a little if you are an involved parent.

Would you switch positions if it would get you out of hot water?
I don't understand the question and don't think it remotely relates to my position.

PS: Never been to the skool of hard knocks, and you have never had kids. This is a very simple way of explaining our difference of opinion, without resorting to rhetorical questions.

You're quite good at self-analysis and I believe your aforementioned statements completely. Your positions are firm and are unlikely to change with the times.

This is in direct contrast to the hypocrites who do a flip-flop on a daily basis, depending on their own personal needs. There was one individual, no longer present, who had railed on about the illegal immigrants and how they should be sent back to Mexico. He had no problem hiring two of them to work on his yard when the going got tough. This is a blowhard with no convictions.

We may disagree at times, but I respect the solidity of your arguments.
