It's now obvious the wrong snap ring was put on the axle during the rebuild. I'm screwed if it doesn't come out because the car is undrivable. I don't even think the transaxle can come out without disconnecting the axles first. What are the chances of going after NAPA for some kind of compensation?
slim to none... but damn, taking a 7 year old car to a junkyard, because of something like this..........

wow, that sucks, you've got as good of luck as me

What's the indi up to?

are you going to give up the car if it cant be fixed for a certain dollar amount?

He is pulling the transaxle today, and if necessary will split it open to free the axle stub. He says he will only charge for the transaxle R&R. I know others would have given up or would charge a ridiculous amount, but as I said he's persistant, and sofar, honest.
