Funny how times change
Why the change of heart? Whichever way the wind blows I guess.

Gotta make you wonder where all that false and misleading "intelligence" came from. As far as I'm aware of, no evidence exist to this day of Iraq's program for nuclear or biological weapons. After scouring the country now for 3 or 4 years very little to nothing has been found to indicate any of the above mentioned WMD programs existed (excluding what was found/destroyed after the 1st gulf war). Could our intelligence community honestly have been that wrong or misled? Could those WMD programs have been concealed so well that to day we haven't uncovered them? Or was this some cooked up conspiracy created to justify an invasion for reasons that have yet to be determined? Something stinks about this whole war that were stuck in now, maybe one day the truth will reveal itself, but I doubt it.

Wars stimulate the economy and sharpens our military capabilities, blame stimulates politics and is designed to stray our focus. If we keep on this track of a two sided government filled with used car salesmen that blame and cannot provide, we will be doomed to this cycle indefinitely.

My point was...both sides, Dem-Repub went into this with open eyes. Right or wrong it was agreed upon. Could the WMD's have been trucked into Syria? Saddam had 6 months to prepare. He is not a stupid man. We all agreed that something needed to be done, unfortunately though, I don't know if the exit strategy was completely thought out.
But, who could truly forsee all the twists that this liberation has brought forth. Between the internal civil struggle in Iraq and both parties turning this into a political soundstage to push their agenda, this has become a nightmare for the common Iraqi people I'm sure. Let's all hope that this comes to an end in our lifetime. I want it to be known that I support what we aimed to accomplish in Iraq. And I support our endeavour to change the political climate in our ever-uneasy world. And those politics are not stamped with an Elephant or Donkey. But with the hope of Global understanding and respect of eachother's cultures and beliefs. But, bomb anything else or cause trouble in my USA and may they all melt into glass. |

Agreed, let's just hope we can pinpoint who to melt and that our leaders have the balls to do it. Personally, I think that day is coming soon.

So, why did we go in, in the first place?
Could it have been Sa-dam thumbing his nose and mooning the world on the UN resolutions he repeatedly ignored, and openly defied? You have to admit, whatever side of the fence you are on, he did put up a good show, making everybody think he had badaz weapons, whether he did or didn't. He was warned many times to comply, or we would act. He called our bluff. He lost. Hangem' high

Apparently we went in because our intelligence people made a very convincing case for WMD's and both sides of the aisle, the President, and the public bought it. Granted, Saddam didn't cooperate 100%, played his cards poorly and he lost the game. But what happened to all the supposed evidence our intelligence agencies say they had?

Or at least that's what the politicians are telling us. Of course the people who could confirm whether that is true, those in the intelligence agencies, are sworn to secrecy. Isn't that convenient?
