Holy crap. Those photos are nasty. You can't even tell that was ever her head. Hopefully she did not suffer. My condolences to her family. My kids are getting 240Ds.

Apparently, there's a limit to how much good an airbag can do, eh? Yeah, that was pretty gorey and very sad, too. I have a 17 year old and a 14 year old. Neither of them is ever driving MY Porsche!

. . Oh, wait a minute. I don't HAVE a Porsche.

You know this really pisses me off. We have a young girl dead and the blame not only rests on her but her parents shoulders as well. Why does an 18 year old girl need to drive a 911? No reason. At least it was quick and she didn't suffer or take anyone else with her, but what a waste.

911's are pretty safe cars I bet she was doing 100 at the time of impact.

That Civic that she hit is what she should have been driving. This is a classic case of to much car for a young driver.

I dont think people should post that stuff on the internet, could you imagine i if it were your daughter? Not getting on anyone here, but the original person to upload it. Hopefully someone learned something from it at least. Kinda makes you think about all that time spent going 120+.

Exclamation *** Remember When???!!!??? ***

Any of you old enough to remember the "puke-fests" we used to have to watch in driving-classes, in high-school? "HIGHWAY OF DEATH" - "INSTRUMENTS OF DEATH?"

The early versions of "snuff-films" that the school-system would have you watch to get you to "drive-right" instead of being an "@SS-Hol3" behing the wheel when you finally got your licensed

ALSO, how did those pictures make it on the internet? I haven't see a "skull-shot" like that since the pics that a friend showed me when he got back from 'Nam in '70. Her head "popped" like a balloon...that's what all that "white flecking" is around on Pic #5.

I'm showing this to my grandkids just before they go for their licenses, when that happens in 8 years or so.

BTW, do the schools still show those "snuff-films" anymore?

Judging by this post, they apparently don't...

Sad...

I graduated HS in 2001-last class to actually have a driving instructor, missed the snuff films.

Why do people think that the fast car was the problem? The civic could also easily do 100, as could a 240d (barely). The girl shouldn't have been driving anything if she couldn't control the vehicle. A few of my classmates have killed themselves as well, and were not driving porsches at the time.

cheers,
dan r.

2 thoughts (or so)

The two things that come to mind:
1. Let go of the fact that this was a tragic accident, and that a young lady lost her life. Take a look at the damage to the car and the marks and damage to the building. All of that happened inside of probably no more than a half of a second. Think about the amount of energy that was present for that short time. It’s incredible what happens to a couple of thousand pounds of kinetic energy when unleashed from that speed. Though it is a truly sad story. I find the crash itself rather fascinating.

2. I would think that while the investigation was under way, and those pictures were taken. The area would be closed to the public. Thus - I would assume the pictures were take by someone doing the investigation or perhaps the fire crew. (Anyone find it odd that the body is still in the car as it is being loaded onto the truck. Maybe that‘s just before the loading and they‘re about to remove it.)
Anyway - My question is this - How do pictures like that get out into the public so soon? The accident was earlier this month. And - Is there any course the family can take regarding family privacy or something? I’d sure hate to be mourning the tragic loss of a family member while those types of pictures are covering the globe.

Also - Would this be posted on the net if she was in the Civic and hit a 911 prior to the building? The Civic can go 100+mph and pass/hit a 911 doing 70. A civic can get away from an 18 year old after misjudging the clearance when trying to pass. Speed kills - No matter what you’re driving.

The moral of the story... Don't be a DEE, DEE, DEE! BEHIND THE WHEEL!

20 gauge steel isn't armor. Sure I still speed on public highways. Only when it's safe to do so. Trusting that the guy your passing at 100+MPH with your life makes no sense. High power-to-weight ratios and no brains (no pun intended) don't mix.
Too bad, she was pretty....
