A touch dainty for my tastes. I was briefly into a .44 Mag phase and eyed a few of these babies. Very nice. Taken it out yet?

Very nice, great quality. Connecticut production I'm sure.

With the Colt-like single action and slide ejector it really cries out for checkered walnut or cherry grips.

@ paul, yes I have shot this gun several times, it's been in our family for about 25 years, my father just gave it to me yesterday as a birthday gift.

@ Charlton; It is Connecticut made and I have both the cherry grips and pearl. It's a great and accurate shooter.

Happy birthday for yesterday.
That's a beaut! My biggest rage was when the English government banned handguns, but next year that should be remedied - we're emmigrating to Canada.

Canada has strict handgun laws, doesn't it? I'm not sure.

Yeah, but they're still a damn sight better than England, and handguns are still legal (to an extent, but again, better than here).

I thought something like that. Pardon me for inadvertently implying you hadn't done your homework, that implication wasn't intended. I would hate for you to be surprised is all.

Where will you be emigrating to? I mean which province? I've been to BC the most. Lovely people and great scenery. The rest of Canada is a mystery to me, though I hope to visit Nova Scotia next summer. I've been to Central and South America more times and for longer duration than to Canada or Europe. I find warm climates more agreeable.

Nova Scotia is gorgeous and the people are friendly and open. Cape Breton, in particular the Cabot Trail, is a must-see. It's some of the most rugged and spectacular coastline I've visited. Very remote too, and the music community there is thriving. Stop into a local coastal inn and you'll get a Ceilidh (kay-lay), basically a Celtic house party with some incredible local musicians playing.

I've seen the stars under many a foreign sky, but never as clear as near Inverness, camping by the sea.

If you go, don't forget a bottle of the Macallan.

As for handguns, they're legal, yes, but tightly controlled. My guess is that a future ban is likely.

Thanks for the B-day wish (it's actually the 29th but I was in my parents town yesterday so he gave it to me then).
Good luck on your move to Canada, or as we call it "Northern Mexico" ha ha!

Nice gun! Being Canadian, there aren't many places to buy handguns and I have only held a few. There used to be a sports shop near my old family home that sold handguns. I remember going there as a teen with a friend of mine to check out the guns. After a dozen or so visits, and our continued pestering, the owner let us hold a gun or two. The one that immediately drew my eye, and that I remember clearly, was a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44. This model was silver in color and I remember a red dot on the sight at the end of the barrel. Man, that gun was HEAVY.

yes, this thing is heavy, but real balanced.
