Wow,

I just got done reading my new issue of Car and Driver.

On page 140, they have a short story of a 1986 that they completely trashed when reviewing!

First they had the car slide off a freeway on-ramp and sideswipe a minivan!

The car was still drivable, so they kept testing it.

A test driver destroyed the differential. They said it exploded like a grenade!

They've got the money, and the cars are fairly cheap. It's a 20 year old car, and not worth anything yet as a historic/antique, so...

My favourite car destruction ever in a magazine was a 80s Hod Rod (or PHR, forgot) where they made a STOCK 13 second 70s Caddy by basicly cutting the body off the frame. That was pretty cool.

those testers are incredibly abusive to the cars i think.

In October, I took a ride in the "original" 2.3-16 that Car and Driver tested back in 1985. The current owner is a member on the forum and lives in the Chicago area. It's a great car and I guess it's not the one they trashed . . . I hope.
