Question on the iPod Nano... My GF set it up on a Mac, and I've got a PC. When I connect it to my PC it tells me that it needs to "Restore" itself (That's Apple-Talk for "We need to format/erase everything off your iPod) if I want it to work with my PC.

Is there something I can do instead of this (and don't say buy an Apple!)

i believe you have to have a copy of all the songs on your ipod on your pc to begin with before it will let you continue or else its going to erase everything.

When you set up your iPod, you have to format it to work either on a Mac or a PC. Not both.

You need to buy 3rd party software to enable a computer to be able to "see" an ipod as a hard drive. Then, you can take another person's ipod and download the music to your computer. Then, You can sync your ipod with the music library that you just downloaded onto your computer.

I use a software program called Podutil.

I sync my Ipod with Mac and PC with no problems, just make sure you have the latest iTunes and do NOT covert your MP3's....you'll be sorry.

Winders soundboard can do that, use iTunes to convert to MP3.

I am NOT iTunes biggest fan btw.
