Ahh, memory hearkens back to my childhood, where across the road dwelt a nasty, lonely misanthropic social reject, much like myself now,I would imagine.

He had a cat that was quite horrible, you would attempt to ignore it and it would generally scratch a bite you after awhile, and chase you when you walked past the house where it dwelt,we bore the scars of several encounters.

My friend Jeff and I asked "drunk George",{a disbarred attorney who spent his days walking a poodle named after his dead son,and his nights drinking and screaming at imaginary enemies} how we should handle this cat.Drunk George told us to make it sniff ammonia, once that happened the cat would do "flip-flops"as he described it,and leave us alone.

Jeff and I loaded 2 water pistols with ammonia, sure enough nastypuss came over snarling a bit,and we fired right into the cat's face before it tried to run off.
It had not made it 5 feet before it spun around and collapsed, arose briefly with an unforgettable, mournful howl and convulsed for what seemed 20 minutes after which it stumbled under the porch and hid.

It did not run out at us when we walked past it's house,in fact it ran away from us,problem solved. We were 9 years old.
I wonder,will I go to Hell?

That works equally well on really large, mean dogs, too. I got bitten pretty badly once by a big doberman not far from my house.

I had to pass by on my bike everyday and that SOB always chased me. One day he caught me and had my whole thigh in his mouth. His owner stood on the porch and laught at me. Can you imagine that today?

Well, the next time I went by he got a face full of ammonia and he never even barked at me again.

. . . Oh, and BTW, I was wearing a rubber at the time he bit me. So much for that, Mistress!

Don't they get one "free" bite?
