It's just talk. Even more retarded is CNN's poll question: Do you think you can cut your use of gasoline by 20%? I wasn't really sure how to answer that.

I do it every day by walking to work. NPR had a blurb on this last week and found it to be something worth looking into however but, the cost for refining was astounding and there was something about the smell of refining being positively gastly (pun intended).

It's hard to cut gasoline usage when you're a diesel addict

Yeah, it's an old pic I recently found and scanned in. I sold that bus 12 years ago.

They wrote that it would be the equivalent of taking 26 million cars off of the road. I betcha that you could get several million off the road right off the bat, by removing cars that not only guzzle gas, but aren't roadworthy either.

Carpooling should be encouraged - it has saved me over $1000 in fuel savings alone over the last 18 months.

That, and study the way the Germans run their busses (or maybe used to run their busses....when I lived there, they were plenty and on time).

Slap a couple windmills and some solar panels on that thing for when the seas are favorable and you'll be in buisness (the) Don.

The best way to cut gasoline usage is by getting rid of all subsidies, increase the tax on it, and use the tax revenue to invest in public transportation and alternative fuels like biodiesel and ethanol. No politician has the guts to even mention such a plan.
