Bath Tub Liners?

Has anyone here ever had a bath tub liner installed in your home? I have steel tub with pin-sized rust holes in it. I don't plan to keep this house much longer (three years at the most), and I am considering just putting a tub liner in it.

I'm wondering what your opinions on this are if you have any experience with these. Thanks.

Reglazing is common and cost effective, it is also so toxic that its like setting a bug bomb off in your house so get anything that you want to survive out of the house.

Med- Is this something you can do if rust has already started?

"JB weld" What does that mean, Don? It's rusting on the underside of the tub and finally came through the surface.

JB Weld is a reference to epoxy which will fix those holes, at least temporarily. I have a cast iron tub, in which an incompetent plumber had broken off a large section while removing the drain. I repaired it with plumber's epoxy about 8 yrs ago and it is still holding up well. I wouldn't use JB Weld but some kind of white epoxy. SuperMend comes to mind. You could also use one of those cheap small kits of clear epoxy and then cover it up with white porcelein paint designed for sinks and baths.
I bought a house with a cracked shower base some years ago. I repaired it with epoxy and fiberglass cloth. I then sanded it down and painted it with epoxy paint. Also still working 8 yrs later.

Those words remind me of one of the more interesting times in my life. I worked for Wide World Photos (as subsidiary of the Associated Press) in NYC in the mid 1970's. My job was in the darkroom, helping to process prints, but I had a separate job every morning when I got in. Every photo shot by every AP photographer around the world was on my desk and I was responsible for categorizing them. (Sports, War, Fashion, Politics etc) You can imagine that for every one newsphoto that ends up in a newspaper, hundreds of other interesting photos are taken. It was like getting a photo montage of every newsworthy place around the globe every morning. During that time, Saigon fell to the North Vietnamese and all the photos of people piling into helicopters, and helicopters being pushed overboard from carriers were right there every morning.
