As per fatwallet.com they are an awesome deal for an awesome unit... and about 1/2 the price they were last year.

If I wasn't pissing away so much money at the moment on other things I'd buy it just to play with it...

I need to get one of those for my daughter. She's a sweet girl and smart as a whip, but couldn't find her way out of a paper bag.

Now, I just have to figure out if having a GPS violates that all-important male characteristic of never asking for directions. . . .

As long as you don't vocally ask for directions, no harm-no foul.

Okay, Surf. That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the confirmation!

Only don't start learning about all the cool crap you can do with it (hacks and such) -- that REALLY makes you want to buy it... ok. I'll stop now. I'm NOT going to buy it. Really -- I'm not. (damit!)

I am now wondering what the solution is for powering all of these things in one's car. I have a satelite radio which is plugged into my cigarette lighter. I don't have anywhere else to plug stuff into.

Anybody have any suggestions?

They make "Y" for the cigarette lighter... or you can just hard-wire it @ the fuse box for a neater appearance...

That follows my rule of getting stuck, ie: You aren't really stuck until you have to go get help.
