Firefighters Union

Part 2 - I heard a blip on the news that his union has filed a lawsuit that is keeping the fireman ON the payroll to this date. The Village is paying him his vacation and sick leave to this day !!! What's wrong with this civilization !!!

Well, he has a union. Since they have few things to fight for now, they have to busy themselves with this sort of stuff.
I used to tell my wife that she would not lose her nursing job since it was a union shop unless she killed a few patients in front of witnesses and even then, the union would fight for her. Yes, once upon a time, they were necessary. Today, their main function is to keep mediocre and incompetent people employed.

If you knew me, you'd know my thoughts on unions.
However, let's remember, two parties have to sign that contract. Weak-assed management is usually to blame for this kinda crap. Why pay the guy? Refuse to. What'll they do, sue you? Duh, they are anyway. Let 'em suffer.

Hey I ain't knocking Fireman, or Police we see too many stories about guys like this.
Then just a blip about the many that risk their life for us. Unions, and our legal system.

Don't think anybody is blaming all Firepeople for this issue. Just that we don't understand why the union would be supporting somebody who was obviously crooked.
There was an LPN that forged an RN signature for narcotics. He got caught and they dismissed him AFTER HE ADMITTED IT. Well the union fought for reinstatement and back pay because management was too stupid to report him to the nursing board and have his licence stripped. This happened in a place my wife worked so it is not a story from a friend who knows a friend in that facility.
