Wayne TF. Newton...??

WTf is Wayne Newton doing singing Dankashein to introduce the NBA All Star Game??

Is this guy like 75 yrs old??

Not that I would prefer to have stupid rappers spitting on themselves with their underwear hanging out, but this guy must own the town to get this gig.....

Any opinions? ...other than "I don't give a hoot."

Would you rather have Don Ho singing "Tiny Bubbles" instead?

You might not be far off the mark when you said:

I was never that impressed with the guy, nor with Liberace for that matter, but both of them shed tears on my behalf on their daily trips to the Bank of Las Vegas.

i remember when he first hit the scene on the ? ed sullivan show. he was a teenager who was very pudgy and sang 'danka schein' in a voice that sounded like a girl. he had a great smile and a bubbly personality.

his huge popularity has always mystified me.

he looks fine now.

did his voice ever change?

The NBA is a joke, so what better a representative. Looking forward to March myself.

btw, Wayne Newton doesn't even own his own shows--the IRS has a lien on everything he earns. He filed Chapter 11 in the late nineties (iirc) and one of the things he listed was a $600K prior tax lien.
