I'm up to about 3 per day. I don't want to keep getting them, and I'm concerned about "pre-approved" applications for me getting into the wrong hands.

Begin by calling the Consumer Credit Reporting Industry "Opt-in and Opt-out" number at: 888-567-8688. You will be asked for your name and address and a form will be mailed to you. Fill it out, send it back and the mailings will stop.
Or you can opt-out electronically from that website.
Anyone try these? Are they legit?
