Going to buy a laptop today or tomorrow. I know this has been gone over,,, but,,, if it hasn't been revived in the last month, all the info is worthless with how fast technology changes. I want it mostly for traveling and keeping in touch via e-mails and such. Any good deals out there or things to stay away from. I do have a Toshiba at work that I have been using for 5 or 6 years and no trouble to speak of.

I have a Toshiba that I've owned for a couple of years. It was inexpensive and it is bullet proof.

I bought my oldest a Mac Powerbook. She loves it.

I bought my other kids Sony Vaio and they have been very reliable too.

I've read that Dell have been somewhat troublesome as of late.

I've also read that HP laptops have been performing very well.

I would not buy a Gateway or a Compaq though.

It depends on what you intend to use your laptop for.

Not in this weather!

I hate to procrastinate so I bought a HP today. Will let you know how it works out. Mainly want to be able to use it anywhere in the house and for traveling. It doesn't have the real big screen and it's not too heavy,,,, just right.
