Nobody denies he went thru the hellish dehumanisation he did back during the Nazi regime,and it was stupid and foolish of this idiot to attack him.

However Wiesel has overstated his case on several occasions and,like the late Simon Wiesenthal,was always ready to hurl anti-semitic accusations at anyone who dared question his personal story.

Thru my life I've heard the most conflicting stories,from the Jews themselves.Remember,I worked as a watchmaker in the early '80's,learned to speak yiddish colloquially and thus dealt with many who were in the camps.Some were hesitant to speak of their experiences,others were very open with me,especially since my first wife was a Satmar Chassid whom I married at 21,different and fascinating story in itself.

What's to deny? The Germans themselves admit what happened and went through a long atonement process. I believe the only thing in question is the actual number of Jews that were sent to the camps.

You make some good points. Only a delusional fool would deny the horror of the holocaust but I get a little burnt out on the quickness to hurl the anti-semitic charge. Not unlike the sort of Rev. Al Sharpton overplaying of the race card.

The NY Jews who went to the holocaust denier conference in Iran said their purpose was to draw attention to, in their minds, the misuse of the holocaust to promote Zionism.

I dunno, it just struck me that holocaust deniers are having a field day, or so they think. This character was not arrested, at least not yet that I know about, but he posted an account of the event on some website, the account being precise enough so that it's pretty clear it was him.

He thought he was going to get Wiesel into a room and by sheer dint of his personality, stare him down so that he would admit that the holocaust is all myth.
