Wrong again, dumbarse. I've been on this board since pre-2000, I think, and I've responded to lots of posts.

I am adaptable. I go where the data takes me, just like any good scientist.

Consistency is the hobgoblin of a small mind.

Really?? OK, If you say so Joe. Anyone can easily go back and look at the entire post though. Seems pretty clear to me.

Now, this one, I admit, is out of context

That's a "foolish" consistency.

Emerson would want you to get it right.

Or how about this:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
"I certainly wouldn't worry about using 1 quart in 1400 miles or so. I personally wouldn't attempt any repair on my own vehicle if using this amount of oil was the only problem.

On gas engines, consuming oil has the problem of fouling the plugs, if the consumption is too much. This creates a real problem, so you have to resolve the oil burning problem. On diesels, that's not a problem.

I would say to check the oil frequently, use an oil with the diesel rating, change it every 5000 or so, and move on down the road.

You can buy an awful lot of oil for the cost of even the most basic repair."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's think about this...

One quart of oil is replaced every 1,400 miles. That means roughly 1/3 of the crankcase capacity is replaced with fresh oil in 5,000 miles. And yet Joe says change it, because oil is cheaper than repairs.

Joe, you have come a long way in 6 years!!! I now know that you are trying to convert the rest of us to 30,000 mile OCIs to make up for your prior wastefullness!

Joe is a viewed as a man's name, that's why. If you have not figured that out, then all the rest of your statements are suspect to be close to the "tards" level you throw on others. To answer your original question, I dont think others "hate" you for your oil change views... so it must be something else in your posts.
