Why do the oil change fananics hate me so?

Is it my dynamic wit? Or my extreme brilliance? All I know is when I go at Larry B. about his insane oil change bi-line, he and his minions attack.

Larry once rescued me from a fate worse than death, when I recklessly tried to change cold motor oil. Ever since then I have been in his debt. There must be a good reason he hates you, therefore I hate you as well. 240's suck, BTW.

OTO, I just visited your public profile page on this site, and if that is a picture of you, all is forgiven.

Yes, 240D do sux but I also have a 300D, which suxs slightly less.

Yes, that pic is of me, in my younger days. I used to be an underwear model.

And yes, changing oil cold could crack your block...Larry said. And you have to leave the drain plug out at least a year, otherwise a drop might be trapped in the engine. Oh yeah, don't forget to drain the oil cooler. Then remove it and sent it to a clean room for inspection.

Geez, it's all coming back to me now.

I usually remove the drain plug and let most of the oil drain out, then I place a running garden hose in the oil fill hole. I allow the water to run until the engine is completely free of all traces of oil. Can't tell you how much the neighbors love me for this.

I drain my oil out, then refill the crankcase with diesel fuel, run it about 5 minutes, and then drain that.

Then I place a tampon in the oil drain hole and let it sit over night. I know, I know, Larry told me this could lead to Toxic Shock Syndrome but those pads are SO bulky.

I used to disassemble the engine and wipe everything clean with a lint-free shop rag. Go ahead, try to top that one.

Just to see if it would hurt my engine in my 240, I once dropped a duece down the oil filler hole.

It not only smoothed out the idle, but it improved my fuel economy by 30%.

I wouldn't dare tell Larry that...cause he's always constipated.

Seriously, I haven't changed my oil in my 240 in 3 frickin years. And the last time I changed it, I put used synthetic in it after another guy ran it for 5kmiles.

Runs like a top.

Change your oil hot and often....what a total load of BS. Total auto repair whacking off. It's a stealth repair, for peeps that can't do real work, at least they can change their oil....might as well do it 24/7/365.25.

So how many miles do you have on your 'little duce 4-door' special sludge mixture? Be sure to have a look at the bottom end when it finaly siezes up so you can see where your wicked ways have led you.

Ditto what tom said and welcome to the OD.
