They are also very, VERY active in numerous states and on the federal level when it comes to elections, lobbying, court cases, media appearances, etc...

I work in lobbying off and on both directly for money and indirectly for change for my own agenda in several states, and I have never heard of this organization. Guess I should spend more time on the interweb and off the skreet:dizzy2:

One of hundreds. My point is that the article you posted is akin to "Reefer Madness" and "Dragon Weed"---too far bs in the right direction.

Man, how are you guys missing this point so badly?....

My point is: The laws and rules pertaining to this subject are WRONG, backwards, counter-productive, unfair, and quite simply STUPID.

Mike

Yep. Strange how alot of the people who condemn pot usage defend their legal rights when it concerns alcohol consumption. Such hypocrisy I can't understand or justify.

Glad you got the point. Kinda.

Oh, so you mean to imply that the MPP disseminates "tripe", and that they have accomplished nothing in the battle against the absurd "war on drugs", and in fact have hindered progress???....

I'm quite willing to wager that they've accomplished far more than YOU have in the nation-wide fight for the decriminalization of marijuana.

Glad to hear you're actually pounding the pavement in support of your own cause(s). Can't fault you for that.

But in case you haven't noticed, the internet is this new-fangled thingy that all the kids are using, and even a few grown-ups do too!!! I hear it's a great way to communicate a message to.. oh... maybe a couple BILLION people at a time.... I'm told it's pretty effective and popular.... but what would I know.

:P

Well I don't know about that. I can count my successes but can you track how many people your $25 donation has saved? I like the point, but disagree with the presentation

You keep missing the point. Maybe you should put the bong down for a while....

A visit to this page quite easily demonstrates where my donations are going:

http://www.mpp.org/site/c.glKZLeMQIsG/b.1086553/k.E35A/Campaigns.htm

There's a LOT of interesting reading there, if you'll take the time. The MPP is involved in print/radio/television ad campaigns, lobbying on the state and federal level, sponsoring legitimate research on the subject, and has even filed suit against the federal drug czar John Walters, relating to his misappropriation of federal taxpayer funds to actively lobby against pro-legalization legislation on state and local levels.

And I am also my own proof.... One of their ads got MY attention, which is how I became a supporter in the 1st place.

And now my post, and our subsequent extended discussion of it, has garnered the attention of several more people.

Not everyone will agree. At least not at first... But agree or not... at least it got their attention and made them THINK, even if only for a moment.

Nice cliche, but I don't really think you are capable of offering even token help to resolving the issue.

Mike

I am a registered lobbyist and have never heard of them (mpp). Your post has garnerned my attention only to the extent that it turns me off of the pro pot movement, even though I initially agreed with it, comprende?:silly:

No, I don't "comprende", because your position makes no sense.

It's probably useless... but I'll try one more time:

What issue? That you are full of yourself & can't be wrong?

I agree with Mike in about 0.05% of the stuff he has posted on this forum, but on this topic he is hitting the nail right on the head.

And you just keep trying to take lame shots at him.....

Buzz off ....JD.

Don't you get it?... He's a "registered lobbyist", and he has never heard of MPP, therefore they simply MUST be insignificant and full of $h!t.

:silly: :behead:

BTW, thanks for the 0.05% support. ;) :D

Yet another tragic case of confusing the interweb with real life bidness. Sad but prevalent.
