Zodiac watches...any insight?

Poking through grandparents old jewlery, I found a watch: Zodiac, Swiss Made, Automatic movement. It's labeled "Aerospace GMT" Anyone know anything about these? It has three hands as well.

Just saw the movie, Zodiac.

That's about all the insight I have (a character wore that brand).

That's one heck of a nice watch. My dad has one that I have been trying to pry out of his hands for thirty years with no luck. Whatever you do, don't sell it.

Update

I had the crystal rebuffed, and the watch looks great! Its the exact one in the first link. Keeps perfect time too. Guy at the watch store told me its worth anywhere from 350-700 depending on how much I want to refurbish it. Thanks for the help!

Zodiac GMT

Very good watch, I own about 6 or 7 myself, has a 17 jewel movement (vacheron 7735 i believe) and will last a lifetime if taken care of with regular service (Clean, Lube, Adjust).

I have the Zodiac my Step Dad wore as a Naval Aviator over 'Nam (Sea Chron 3 dial) as well as a very fine 18K gold dress watch that is frequently mistaken for a Patek or Piaget.

BTW the company was bought by Fossil (who have swallowed up almost every good name) and is now no different than a Swatch. Cheap cases plated with gaudy level "goldtone" and quartz guts that are the same as the watch you get for free with a Happy Meal. They now look like a cheap ho wearing a MB hood ornament as a necklace...

Vacheron does not make movements, they are a watch brand. Unless I am missing something, you are likely thinking of the Valjoux 7750 or 7753, but those are chronographs, so the watch we are talking about here has to be using something else. Only way to really find out is to open the caseback. As for modern Zodiacs, they are mostly mediocre quartz watches.
