The pictures listed in this auction are of the same wheels and tires I tried to purchase back in January 2007.

The seller of that auction, named "shinsales"(auction #270075093654), received my money and never sent the items.

His account was suspended, and I filed a claim through Ebay, as well as the FBI internet crime division, and the Federal Postal Inspector.

This seller may be the same person. Buyer Beware!!!

I just found it suspect that the "new" auction is listing the same wheels/tires, using the exact same photos. Ebay closed the account of the previous seller, and notified me of their investigation, but only after my check was cashed two days earlier. The seller was listed in Kenmore, Washington, which turned out to be a PO box at a UPS store. My check was cashed at a Wells Fargo bank in Arizona. I have been in contact with several other buyers that experianced the same situation with other auctions the seller had listed(Porsche Kenesis wheels, Porshe Litronics headlights, etc.) at the same time. I can't say for sure that this new auction is from the same seller, but it sure looks questionable.

I have seen item on the bay that have interseted me but I have always held off from pursuing them. I personally dont like the PAYPAL thing.

I saw a report in which a lady bought a designer dress but didn't use the Ebay transaction model of PAYPAL. Needless to say she got nothing, lost 4k usd and EBAY washed their hands because she went around their system.

I have to ask did you send the monies directly and if you would have used PAYPAL would you have been protected by Ebay? That is my question if anyone knows.

My experience is they wont protect you. They just give you the runaround. Ebay says go to PayPal. PayPal says got to Ebay. They both say go to your Credit Card company. First they say it is too soon to file a claim, you have to work it out. Then they say it is too late. They all claim a bunch of protection. But they scurry like rats when something goes wrong. That is my experience. Now I am super careful.

Perhaps this is a bit more usual than we think. Different item but seems as the same method to commit fraud. Here's the link;
