Ah, but have you priced a W126 SEC hood lately?

$3000 from my local dealer. The car's worth it if you need a hood. Which I don't.

Find a diesel to your liking yet? Sorry about the chase that 300CD put ya through!

At least the PO did a quality repair job on the roof.

Thats not that bad, it's got an interior, an engine to take parts off of, a transmission, body panels, wheels. Good purchase if price isnt too high.

Hi Rob & Matt......

True I hadn't thought about this as a parts car...

I actually just had my A/C completly repaired, along with a new timing chain. (1st new one since '85 )
The A/C took about 7 working days for my indy . Many new parts and about 1,400 later I should be able to survive the next summer in south FLA.
I needed a new push button control that added 250. to the bill- all new actuators , since he was in there- and a few other things.
I asked for a valve adjustment, and he said they were set properly still.
This is 1 good engine considering looking at my PO's receipts I doubt the valves have been adjusted in the last 12 years if ever....

I will still pasively look for a 2nd MB; There is a real nice '89 560SEL with lo miles for sale in NY I am interested in. I know the mpg's are crappy, but I think the ride & comforts may be worth the extra $$$. After all these were 70K + cars 20 yrs ago .......

I may be ready for an ol foggie car...

Yeah I see alot of good parts there if it were around here I would pay 500 for it. Coupe parts starting to get harder to find.

The sheet metal looks straight, that would make a nice parts car. $300 is very fair.
