hands-free circular sink (commercial)???

What the heck do you call those hands-free (foot operated) sinks? You know, the big circular ones with the faucet in the middle... you step on a rubber-padded button or a metal bar to operate it. A co worker is taking a design class and just asked what you'd call one, and where to find a pic. Google's not helping (though maybe my keywords aren't appropriate).

Thanks!

That's what I as finding, but not quite what I have in mind. This is a big, circular sink, waist-high, with a soap dispenser in the middle. The controls are all foot-actuated. I didn't see that on the plumbingsupply.com site, unless I missed it. Thanks though!

No, I have seen them on a number of occasions. Some grade schools have them (well, junior versions anyway), which makes perfect sense. We also have them at my Guard unit in the hangar, where aircraft maintenance can leave one's hands pretty nasty -- it's nice to have those foot-controls. I have seen them in other hangars, too, when TDY to other bases and even other countries. The French had one installed in their hangar bathroom in Istres when we were there even!

This is going to drive me nuts!

Check out Sweets website (McGraw Hill Building Services) and see if there is something there your friend can use. It may require a subscription. I'm not sure. That's what I use.

Thanks -- I started to establish an account but they're asking for my right leg and rights to my firstborn to do so and access a search. That's an interesting site, however. I'll refer my friend to it.

Awww, man! That was a sink? Well, that explains all the funny looks I was getting...

(You might try "communal sink" when you're searching.)

If your friend is in school, maybe the school has access to Sweets. It IS very expensive. It's our company's primary mode of getting construction plans and specs and tracking projects.

They also have tons of other useful stuff which may even include draing blocks and stuff like that. I guess that's really what your friend is looking for.

I dunno why I didn't think of that -- that's exactly what we have in most of the restrooms around here at Lockheed. It's pretty wasteful, though, because it's usually only one person using it at a time.

Yeah, I saw that one yesterday, too, but it looks to be a picture of a derelict sink. Not something to use when submitting a project proposal! I need to find out what that's called and who makes it! We have almost the exact same thing (heck, it might be THE same thing) at my Air National Guard unit in the hangar. I'll check it out next time I drill.

Anyway, that pic is the closest to what we're looking for. Google image didn't come up with anything else (one other flickr image of another derelict sink) after eons of searching yesterday.
