did your computer fix the time by itself?
I downloaded the patch for Windows XP for the daylight saving time change, well this morning nothing happened. Is it my computer or is the fix bad?
|
none of my electronics did... Weak sauce
|
PC did, Merc did not.
POS, trade that thing in. |
i have xp and mine changed just fine.i was gonna look for the patch or update or whatever, but when i got on this morning the time was right on so i'm happy, really if it didn't change i was just gonna let it go for the next 3 weeks and let it change then.i don't look at the time very often anyway.

It should have calibrated via GPS, appparently their satellite's software was out of date. :) |
Same thing happened to my one the pc.
I downloaded the fix, and it didn't change the time. I had to do it manually. Now, the Mac on the other hand, changed the time by itself after downloading the update. |
Windows Mobile 2005 also changed correctly with the update, after a reboot.
|
I don't remember downloading any patch for the time change but when I turned on the computer a few minutes ago lo and behold the time was changed.
|
Mine changed the time and had a fresh cup of capuccino waiting for me. :D
|
Mine updated automatically. I don't remember it downloading anything within the last week since my is in suspension when it moves from home, to the office and back.
|
My work PC on XP did without doing anything, I'm not sure about the home one.
I did have to turn the knob to change the clock on my TD this morning. :) |
I decided not to change the time as I do not use Outlook as a scheduler of my appointments.
It corrected the time, anyway. No input from me. I guess MS sent me a patch, but I took no overt action. |
My computer at work is just as accurate today as it was on Friday. It has NEVER had the correct time on it. Windows XP Professional.
I don't blame Microsoft for this, though. The guy who maintains our network seems very disorganized and not too sharp most of the time. I'm sure that has a lot to do with this issue among many others. |
My XP lap top corrected itself just fine. My Windows2000 unit did not, but then again it hasn't been rebooted (shoot, it has been basically turn on for four years straight!).
|
My XP pro laptop at home updated itself. The systems at work also updated themselves and their running Linux Redhat Enterprise. The big boxes at work updated themselves but they had to be patched to get them to do it. Interestingly the Sun boxes we have at work did not update themselves. The first time I've seen a Sun box not do what it is supposed to do, otherwise Solaris is the most stable OS I've ever worked with.

Don't be ridiculous, I have a MAC. Maxine the Wonder Benz will get her clock re-set when next we meet. My heart will always belong to analog...
|
Fun thing is, I noticed my clock was an hour behind today4 days after it was supposed to. Must be that dang x186 processor is a little on the slow side
|
And it happened again today, had to fast forward the clock another hour,,, grrrr
|
Not only did it not reset but
Since the time change, now almost two weeks ago, my computer has twice reverted to the old time. It went back about 3 days after I changed it, and then last night it went back again. I don't get it. I have a very recent install of Windows XP . One my other computer, it is an older version of XP, bought as I remember in early 2000 to replace that garbage Millenium . It did not change either, but it has not reverted back like mine has. What's the scoup?
|
Once again, My computer reverted to the old time,,, this is getting to be a Pain in the Arse MR. GATES are you listening???
