Oh yes, there's one that has the initials BW but you get crazy things like excessive name calling and ridiculous claims that make Ebay ads sound like fact.

My top 3 favorites are

1. putting water into a running engine to remove carbon deposits
2. a poster claiming to have been the first to think of running plant oils instead of petroleum based diesel
3. 11 second 0-60 in a 240D

I've never found ANY forums that came close to this one for diversity of backgrounds, ideas, politics, intelligence, as well as technical information. Since I spend more time than I ought to on mercedesshop.com, I really don't have time to go anywhere else. Don't need to, either.

Funnily enough I've seen this all over the place, not just specifically one forum. A lot of old skool mechanics used to pour water into the top of the carb as the car was running. I don't know the ins-and-outs of the process, but by all accounts it's quite effective.
Not that I'd ever want to try it!

Works like a hot damn! look at an engine where the head gasket leaks water into the combustion chamber. Clean as a wistle.

True - but did you also realize by calling this OD lame, you are implying that the posters who make up the content of this OD, are lame?
