Handy little thing.
Just thought I'd put this out there, I've been using it for years (w/nary a problem I might add). It's a handy little conversion program that is at times a big help. Also, since it has the ability to do custom conversions, based on your input, it can also be fun. You can check it out here:
http://joshmadison.com/software/convert/ As near as I can tell it's free and ok to use. If someone finds out otherwise, please let me know, I'd gladly pay a reasonable price. MV |

No problem. I love the thing. I've been able to figure out how many teaspoons my engine displaces (669), how many calories per second my engine can burn (33870), and even the fastest I've ever driven my vehicle (Mach .125!).
But seriously, it can be a great tool when converting the lesser used measurments you come across when working on these cars, or anything for that matter. MV |

If the US went to the metric system you wouldn't need most of this. I used metrics for 20 years overseas and it is so much easier than our imperial system as to make no odds.

I agree, the metric system is easy/easier, but let's face it, here in the US dealing with both is the reality. The conversion program does so much more than just standard to metric though. For instance, I'm approximately 5.926744e-017, or .00000000000000005926744 parsecs tall. Well bare foot anyway. Probably .000000000000000061 or so in my boots. And let me say now, if I were a diamond at my weight... well, 464932.2 carats is nothing to sneeze at!
Man, I love this little app... MV |
