Adobe Acrobat Pro 7.0
Here's to hoping that someone here knows a bit about Acrobat.
I need to start scanning in documents via my HP ScanJet (automatic page feeder) and I have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Right now I'm: 1) Placing a stack of pages into the auto-feeder. 2) This gives me a PDF with a number of pages equal to the number of pages I've put in the auto-feeder. 3) I then go and save each page ONE BY ONE -- which is a major PAIN IN THE ASS... and then I put that file into the folder for that particular thing. For example, ABC-010107 would be a page for ABC and it would be dated that date (010107)... then all the ABC pages go into the ABC folder, and are sorted by date. Sooooooooooo... My question. I KNOW there must be a better way to manage documents... anyone know anything about this sort of thing? I love the automatic data feeder, I can feed it and carry on with my tasks... but this saving one at a time ain't gonna work. I'm dealing with thousands of pages... Thanks, Pete |

Check your settings on the HP ScanJet.
This will not help you, but I've got a Fujitsu "Scan Snap", which is about 8" x 6" x 6". Drop in a stack of documents and it saves them all as 1 pdf file with multiple pages. |

Yeah... That is what I'm doing, dropping a stack in and it saves it as one big file... but I need each page to be a separate file...
Doesn't seem to be any kind of setting for my scanner, but I'll keep searching. Thanks, Pete |

No sweat, I appreciate the reply.
There has to be a better way, I just don't know it yet. Pete |

Pete, open PS7, then goto File->Create PDF->From Scanner
Then in that small window choose the scanner and choose whether or not you want to OCR it or not. Set the image settings etc. When you get to the next page set the page to the appropriate paper size and go! |
