Anna Nicole Smith died of a Mickey Finn

Heard on the news today that Anna Nicole Smith had nine different prescription drugs in her body when she died.

From ABCnews.com:

None of the medications found in Smith's blood were at radically high levels, Perper said, except for chloral hydrate. He said the sleep medication played a major role in her death.

Chloral hydrate is one of the earliest known American sedatives and gained notoriety in the 1800s as the potent ingredient in a Mickey Finn ' — a debilitating cocktail of chloral hydrate and alcohol. Legend has it that the so-called ''knockout drop" was used by a Chicago bartender who slipped the substance into unsuspecting patrons' drinks and then robbed them.

Aside from her untimely death, I found it interesting to find out what a "Mickey Finn" actually is.

We have all probably heard of the term, but did anyone actually know that a Mickey Finn was alcohol laced with chloral hydrate?

That's not what I heard. I heard it was Huckleberry . . .

Why and when do you say the death is "untimely". I keep hearing that all the time but never know when it really is right.

Her age. What was she? 38? 39? Nobody expects to die so young.

So when would you say it isn't "untimely"? I have seen 60 yo people who died being referred to as untimely.

I suspect that most people expect to live past 60, but it's harder to characterize a death at 60 as untimely I guess.

When my Fiance' died last yeear at 29 years old, with no bad health history, beautiful physical shape, never smoked, or drank. Her heart just Stopped (Ventricular Tachocardia) they called it. Her deat was as "Un-timely" as I've ever seen. We would be married this coming April 14th......"Un-Timely"..

I think Howard K. had his eyes on the prize. AN Smith was just a stepping stone on the way to the real prize for him, if you ask me. Which you didn't, but you're getting my opinion anyway.

The world uttered a collective gasp of apathy over this breaking news. Hopefully, all of the main players in this farce will retire to their trailer parks and finally, at long last, STFU.

Survey says:

I just dont care. (about Anna Nicole) Their could be some important stuff on the news sometime; you know? instead for the past month it's all just her.
