My roomate snores

My roomate here in my dorm sounds incredibly sickening when he snores. It's almost sleep apnea bad. I keep thinking that I'm going to find his trachea on the floor one morning. It seems like it takes me two hours to get to sleep every night. His snoring happens in 15 minute intervals. He gradually gets louder and louder until he wakes himself up and shuts up for about five minutes. Then it all begins again. However, when I make a noise to try and disturb him, nothing happens at all. Sometimes it just gets louder. And he's a marine. Isn't he supposed to always be aware of his surroundings? I mean, I could walk over to his side of the room right now with a plastic bag and he'd be done for. Does anyone have any ideas about how to shut him up?

No, he's in much better shape than I am. I tried the iPod thing. That works sometimes, but he manages to snore over that. Maybe some chloroform would knock him out. But, I don't know...that might make it worse.

Mine, too. I can hear her snoring through the wall at night. She's kind of fat and that may have something to do with it. I thought about tearing out my drywall and putting sound-deadening insulation in the wall. Instead, I just turn on a fan to make some "white noise."

There is some kind of spray that's supposed to stop snoring. You spray it on trhe back of your throat. Go talk to a pharmacist.

Maybe have a heart-to heart talk with him, hold his hand and say how it isn''t good for his health or your sleeping and that you're concerned

OK, maybe not.

Record it and play it back for him.

My wife kicks me.

That may be unrelated to the snoring, though

I've considered the application of a pillow over the offending person's face, held down tightly until they quit squirming around. . . Okay, maybe that's not the best idea. Just a thought. . .

You mean spray it in the back of HIS throat? That's kinda mean but could be quite funny.

He needs a sleep study. After they discover he has sleep apnea, a Doc can prescribe him a CPAP unit to use at night. That'll shut him up and he'll feel a helluva alot better during the day.

just give him a swift punch to the kidneys or ribs, eventually he will get tired of it and stop snoring...
another thing that causes snoring is when people sleep on there back, u might try to flip him over...
