Kurt Vonnegut dead, at age 84

Very sad, he was a truly great author....Cat's Cradle, Slaughterhouse Five never to be forgotten....

I've read everything I know of that he wrote and enjoyed all of his books. Maybe I'll re-read them. I would have loved to sit around and chew the fat with him.

You know. I dont believe I've read any of his works. Probably something I'll have to rectify one of these days. He was a sci-fi author was he not?

Not in the usual sense- his background was from there but I guess I've never thought of Vonnegut as sci-fi. I've always thought of him as worth reading, though. Kurt, you will be missed...

I've read all, but "Sirens of Titan" is my favorite of Vonnegut; who is tied with Robertson-Davies (also recently departed) as my favorite author.

I think I stayed up for 2 or 3 nights in a row until 2 or 3 am reading Slaughterhouse Five.
I had forgotten all about Welcome to the Monkey house, until I read about his passing earlier today.

I remember seeing Robertson Davies amble across campus at the University of Toronto when I was there.
