Icing -- Yeah, the stuff on cakes, really.
I know this is going to appeal to about 1% of the people on this forum, but...
If by chance you find the need to make home-made icing -- and you want to make it healthy (yeah, really -- it can be!) -- you'll come to find that almost all the decent recipes have Corn Syrup in them. The first ingredient in corn syrup is high fructose corn syrup. Which, from a health point of view it total and utter *****. WTB had to make a cake -- she refuses to eat high-fructose corn syrup. I told her to replace it with honey. Kick-ass. :-) (P.S. and yes, you can replace the milk with soy-milk too!) Ok. I'm done. |

My sister is a health nut, she made vegan cake once, with soy and everything. It was ok and I eat it to be nice, but something was missing, tasted like tinfoil. Give me the good stuff it tastes better, I'll just eat less because its bad for you.

Life's too short - just get the icing. It's good.

That sounds awesome, what are the rest of the ingredients??
My son was a vegetarian for many years. Man was that a PITA! I almost threw a party when he had a Big Mac attack. My daughter is a vegan. Which I don't find to be so much of a hassle now. I guess it's because I try to eat a lot healthier now. I always bought the Silk for her but I find that I like it too. Your right about that corn syrup. That crap is poison! Danny

Use only buttercream, and make it the proper way. Three basic ingredients, sugar, eggwhites, butter.
1) Make Italian Meringue 2) Add soft butter
