Who likes art?

Picked up a nice piece today. It's a collage in clay. Tony Holman, artist.

If Jenna, Briana or Tera want to go look at art, I'm game. I'll even like it and find something to like about it. Otherwise, I'd rather have my teeth filled.

i enjoy art and artists.

modern art kindof escapes me a lot. the piece in the picture for example probably looks very nice in person but to my practical mind kindof resembles a car that has been crushed.

rembrandt now, i do really appreciate.

and there is an exhibit at the chicago art museum which includes a lot of impressionists. van gogh for example looks a lot better in person than the prints. i really enjoyed that.

jackson pollack for example....his work just completely escapes me. i cannot see anything except a lot of paint blotches. kindof resembles the drop cloth of a painter at the age for retirement.

now architecture excites me, but a lot of the newer stuff is kindof trivial too imho. buildings with corners falling off....seems like a kindof trick. sort of like trick photography or photo shopping mel brooks head onto pamela anderson's body.

It's a lot nicer in person. It's textured with natural materials like sheafs of wheat and fired multiple times so there are layers of hue upon hue. I can't seem to get firefox to ftp a large one so for now that'll have to work. If you saw it in person you'd probably agree that it's "good art." I'd rather have this hanging on my wall than a Rothko.

Something about “...the eye of the beholder.” is coming to mind with this thread.

That is what I was thinking.

Depends on one's definition of art.
