Yet another Puzzler for ya. A pretty lady and a bar involved.

Two of you guys and Mistress (why not? This one needs some brains) go into a bar.
(You pick which guys and which bar)
You order drinks for awhile, and then it’s time to go.
(Again - You pick where to)
The barkeep gives you the tab - it’s $30.00.
Good thing, because each of you only has a ten dollar bill.
You each put your ten on the tab and hand it back to the keep.
As he’s ringing it up back at the till, the manager comes up behind him and tells him he’s made an error.
That some of your drinks were during happy-hour, and the total should be $25.00, not $30.00.
So the keep comes back to your table as you are all about to leave. Apologizes for his error. And puts 5 one dollar bills on the table.
The three of you look at each other and try to decide how to split the $5.00 three ways.
Mistress (see, I told you you’d need her there for this), being the smart one, says: “Why don’t we each take a dollar, and leave the remaining $2.00 for the keep for being so honest??”
You all think that’s a splendid idea, and do just that.

Now - Let’s do some easy math and answer a question:

You each originally gave $10.00 each for the $30.00 tab.
You each took back $1.00 from the $5.00 the barkeep brought back after becoming aware of his error.
You decided to leave $2.00 as a tip for his honesty. (his thanks to the Mistress, btw)
So - You’re each out $9.00 each for the drinks and you gave $2.00 for the tip.
$9.00 times the three of ya, is $27.00. Plus the $2.00 tip, comes to a total of only $29.00!!

What happened to the missing dollar from the original $30.00 you put down ?????

I remember this one. My friends and I had a good debate over it one night a few years ago. Unfortunately (fortunately?) alcohol was involved and I don't remember the outcome.

It was 25 bucks for drinks, and split that up 3 ways....

8.33 each for drinks.
0.66 each for tips for drinks
1.00 each taken.

x3...

Why leave a tip this time? They originally paid $30 for what was perceived as a $30 bill. Cheap bastards. Never mind where the $1.00 went.

25.00 tab
3.00 returned
2.00 tip to bar keep (plus the change if you divided the 25.00 3 ways)

Probably not. But at the rate airline pilots are getting busted for boarding the aircraft after drinking - who knows...

Here’s one for your FAA exam:
(I think you’ve heard this here before)

Two identical airplanes in identical air. One weighs more than the other, but both are within gross weight limits.

Both loose power at the same time. Which one can glide the farthest?
(and if you’re really feeling like a geek - explain your answer)

This one was hashed out a couple months ago I believe. It's neat to see it again though. On second thought, It was a different aviation question from a while back I'm thinking about. That one involved dumping ballast I believe.

As to the OP, I think everyone is looking at it wrong. What really happened was that they gave $30 ($10 each) and each got $1 back for a total outlay of $27. The tip total is $2 over and above the $25 cost of drinks. There was no "other" dollar.

I would say the heavier one flies farther. I can't remember the equation from my physics days but with my knowledge of ammunition trajectory, my vote says a heavier bullet will fly for a longer distance given that all other parameters are equal.

Hopefully, they'll work okay. The main thing is, they'll LOOK good.

If they are the PA's I'm sure they'll work fine.

On Mistress - I imagine most anything would look good.

My guess....

The planes travel an equal distance but the lighter one stays aloft longer because both pilots immediately upon power loss established the best- glide speed for their respective craft and the lighter one has a slightly lower best-glide speed which would keep it in the air longer. (Now that was a run-on)
