he is dancing on my computer

It is a browser setting. If you're using Internet Explorer check the following:
Tools->Internet Options; go to the Advanced tab, and scroll down to the Mutlimedia section. Make sure the settings are checked off as desired including Play animations in web pages. |
Works for me too......
?? Maybe an Internet Explorer probelm? Have you tried setting your security settings in Internet Explorer to Medium ? |
Thanks I have checked those settings and they are correct. Are these smiles run with an html or what? Maybe I need to reinstall something. I know he works, I've seen him dancing before and on my work computer but he ain't dancin no mo here at the house.

The banana image is in GIF format and GIF format images do support animation - it's just that your browser is not cycling through the frames of the GIF animation for some reason ... it's got nothing to do with HTML. Many applications (Photoshop, IrfanView, Firefox, IE Explorer, etc.) can display GIF images, but it's up to each application to decide if it wants to cycle through the frames of the animation, and how quickly to do it. I still think there's a setting in your browser's preferences that says to not play the animations. Try reloading the page, or upgrade to a newer browser (Internet Explorer I presume?) if you're using an old version.

Where can I find more info on GIF settings on my computer? I have upgraded to IE vs.7 and checked for updates but he still don't dance. I wonder what else I'm missing on other pages! Thanks for the help I do appreciate it.

Here's again how to find that option with Internet Explorer: From your IE menu ... Tools->Internet Options; go to the Advanced tab, and scroll down to the Mutlimedia section. Make sure the settings are checked off (or on :) ) as desired including Play animations in web pages. You'll have to restart your browser to get the settings to take effect. If that's not the problem, then I don't know what it could be. |
Thanks Mheffel. I went back and unchecked everything in multimedia, restart, then rechecked then restart, still no dance on this computer. Don't know what it is bizzare. I too am running xp amd IE7. Thanks for the help!
