Electricity. We're in the season where we don't have to use the AC or heat.

I run a $45 electric bill year round. It may go up $10 a month or so if I use the air conditioning a lot. I usually keep it set at 76 and shut it off when I'm not home.

A vacant house in Michigan will set you back $75 due to the added fee's that the Michigan legislature allowed the Util's to hose us till the end of time.

But the season is nice our last bill was $125.00 I consider that a utility home run.

OTOH: My mother inlaw has a geothermal system a 3700 sq/f ranch sets her back $80 a month and she keeps it @ 70's during the winter and summer an equivalent house with a traditional system would be in the 500-800 mo range.

Sorry, got it beat.

Big envelope this month, unusual size and shape. Says it's from the power company, so I'd better look at it. It looks like a power bill, but many more pages and calculations.

Turns out, they'd been misreading the meter, and I'd been overcharged for two months.

My April electric bill, after all corrections have been factored in, was a whopping -$39.11!

Do I win this thread? Do I get a prize? Let me guess, the prize for lowest electric bill is that Mercedesshop pays my April bill? Or in this case, since it's a credit, I pay them? Seems like my normal luck... Just let me know where to send the check...

Ahh the kalifornias. My grandma had a solar system put onto her house just before winter. These last few weeks have been nice and sunny, with the exception of a few rains. She went on vacation, and shut off everything in the house. Came back, and had a nice check waiting for her from the power company.

The total. 156.72..... I want solar. I want it now.

That's crazy low! I pay about $100/mo electricity and $200/mo gas. Most of our appliances are gas - water heater, stove, furnace, etc. Only major electrical appliances are the AC and dryer. AC is only used for a month or two up here.

Those are some low rates!

So I'm holding my breath here waiting for old "green" Al Gore to check in and post his electrical bill for this month.
