Doing the kid's hair ala "Willie Nelson" may have had something to do with it...

Is it a tough area? In certian areas of the inner city kids are pretty good with guns and RPG's when they hit 10 or so.

Smells fishy.

The story is just a bit weird. It mentioned that the father was on disability leave for an injury at work. I can see several scenarios, none of them pleasant.

Pure speculation but maybe the dad's working days were over (in his mind) and he was suicidal but didn't want his family to be deprived of insurance money due to suicide. Very strange theory but it's a strange story.

Vallejo does have a tough reputation but not for this.

Yea vallejo is pretty tough. I already lost 5 friends ( all under 23 years old ) all of them shot and murdered in the past 2 years.

But I watched the news today and it sounds like this isnt true. its looking more and more like the mom shot the dad and blamed it on the son or the dad shot himself. But it doesnt look like the 4 yr old did it.

Depending on the policy, suicide might or might not be an issue. Even if I committed suicide today, my policy will pay out to the wife. My policy says I have to stay on for 2 years before I can off myself. Some are 6 months and others may not mention it at all. Was there any insurance involved?

I tell ya, its an innate thing. I watched both my boys pick up toy guns and pull triggers way before I turned my son, 7 at the time, onto .22s and the AR15..

Either it was "accidental" ( with a loaded gun ITS NOT ACCIDENTAL SOMEONE WAS/IS RESPONSIBLE!), or cmac's theory is nearer to reality.

Nevertheless, the gene pool is happy. One less loser in the mix. Counter those strong young men we're losing in Iraq. Gene pool is NOT happy about that.

Yeah, I'm a damn nazi when it comes to ingorance and guns.

Talk to Warner Bros and Disney.

I have a feeling it is the latter made to look like an "accident"

So what will you say when you find out it wasn't Dad's fault? I would be so quick to pass judgment because things are developing.

I didnt pass judgement. I said the gene pool is happy to lose a loser.

Feel sorry for the innocents as always, the 4 yr old. Dad was an eff up adn didnt know how to properly store firearms. Oh well. Natural selection.

How did you come to that conclusion? Even the police didn't know if the gun was locked up or not. Are you holding out on us???

Boys do seem to have a thing about guns and triggers at an early age.

I'll certainly agree that ignorance around guns is, er, uh, ignorant. I just hope the boy isn't burdened by this weird event from now on, especially if he didn't do it.
