Hmmm... The Blessed Mother was a virgin, gave birth to Jesus...

Parthenogenesis is a known but very infrequent occurrence. But lacking any Y chromosomes, the offspring must be female.

If a male could find a way to self-reproduce, the offspring could conceivably be any of three genders (including double-Y male).
