Mercedes Hybrid

I searched and was surprised I couldn't find much on the forums regarding the impending S-Class Hybrid.

I'm enjoy driving my 126 as the ride is smooth, the engine accelerates smoothly and it easily carries my family. I drive my 3 kids and a friend to school in the mornings with all of their backpacks and sporting equipment so I really do need more than an A-Class vehicle.

However, I would like to be more environmentally friendly and am considering my alternatives. It might be time to get a new vehicle!

I am very interested in MB's intention to build hybrids. I don't know much about hybrids, but understand that MB is going to market a "light hybrid" which uses an electric motor to "assist" the gas/diesel engine. Is this better than a full hybrid like the Prius?

I read that Saturn's hybrid turns off the engine when the vehicle isn't moving and then the electric motor helps start the gas engine on acceleration.

I'm interested in learning more about MB's Hybrid Future. I doubt I could afford a new S-Class Hybrid, but maybe a C-Class if that came out.

I'd like to hear what others think about Mercedes Hybrids and the future of MB Hybrids. What about Hydrogen???
