Boeing 787 Rollout today

Boeing's newest jetliner is set to roll out of the hangar today in a big ceremony. Last night, they had a parade of all of the 7-series Boeing, from the 707 to the 777 at Boeing Field. The 707 landed at 7:07pm, the 717 at 7:17pm, 727 at 7:27pm and so on all the way to the 777 (the 767 and 777 landed at 8:07 and 8:17 respectively). You can watch the rollout live here http://787premiere.newairplane.com/. Don't know how many of you are aviation fans, thought ya'll may find this interesting.

It's a large plane, but it's not nearly as huge as the A380

I still have an issue of The Boeing News from the first flight of the 747, stashed away somewhere. My dad was part of the engineering team on that one. He died just before the 777 flew. He thought that one was a piece of you-know-what. All that computer designed crap! "We had nothing but a slide rule to design the 747 with."
He was kinda old fashioned

It's not, but Airbus couldn't get their act together with the A380...production delays pissed off companies that placed orders and they all withdrew...now the A380 is a white elephant with no takers...

Not sure if a large aircraft is a boon for anything but transcontinental travel, but cargo carriers welcome the introduction of larger planes!
