I'd go to Jungle Gardens, and the Old car museum. Maybe the Ca da' Zan and the museum. Might go back to Selby Gardens to see what's new. Maybe see about Parasailing, or drive down to Ft Myers and try jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. (If I'm lucky, I'll miss)
I've been meaning to go back into Oscar Scherer state park again...last time I was there, was in the late 80's.
And, of course, the favorite tourist destination, the Beach. It's been a while since I've been there too.

Dee8go,

If you like aviation museums go to the Wright Patterson Air Museum in Dayton, Oh. I was involved with aviation for a long time and have seen many air museums and Wright Pat is the best by far.

Me too - both my mom and I were born at Mt. Zion Hospital.

My fav vacation is to go home and play tourist.

I went to Postrio in '89 for my college graduation. I took my husband last March when we went out for Spring break (back in college again).

As for Atlanta - ugh. The High Museum? Stone Mountain Park?

I've not been to the Cyclorama or to The World of Coca Cola.

After living in Bahston for a few years, I'm completely ruined. Atlanta is great if you wanna go to a gun show, but is a cultural void, which is too bad because my brother is coming out to visit from Cal next Spring and I'm supposed to entertain him, his wife and kid.

Maybe we can find a place to watch the ATL police obtain some warrants under false pretenses and force an entry firing on a 90 year old lady, or knock down and beat an English scholar who was jaywalking...

I keep driving past it on my way to my lovely daughter #1 and family and always seem to be too early or too late or in a hurry to stop. YOur comments have encouraged me to stop. They have a blackbird there doin't they?

We have few attractions here. But the world class museums of Chicago are 2.5 hr away.

My favorite is the Field museum.

It should be required visit for all creationists....

The aquarium is fantastic too and the Lincoln park and Brookfield zoos.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway museum is also well worth a visit for any car lover. They have a mercedes 300sl race car from I believe the Mexican Road race.

That was years ago before I had discovered the forum and its attendant joys and new pals. The next time I'm in your neck of the woods, I will most assuredly ring you up, Hat.

There is plenty to do in my area. Valley Forge Park, King of Prussia Mall, Old City Phila, Phila Zoo, Mütter Museum, Phila Museum of Art, Avenue of the Arts, Painted Bride, South Street, Manayunk, Skippack, Chestnut Hill, New Hope, Peddler's Village. There are too many great restaurants and places worth checking out to mention. I don't get out as much as I'd like, but I try take advantage of the cool stuff near me.

Here in Charlottesville, VA we have plenty to do- I think of it as a kind of cultural oasis in the middle of VA, and only 2 hours from DC and about an hour from Richmond. Blue Ridge Pkwy and tons of country roads for driving adventures, vineyards everywhere, and of course, the Thomas Jefferson stuff- UVA and Monticello. Plus his buds Madison and Monroe, their places Montpelier and Ash Lawn are right around the corner. Plenty of planned activities for when family or friends come to visit-
