Exclamation *** The day - shot in the shorts... ***

Got a call at 0522.00 - power outage at transmitter site near Colfax, WI. - storm going through the area - probably dropped a tree on one of the phases...

Called a helper - he headed out to the site while I threw some rags on and headed out to an empty truck - had to gas up before I could head nort' ...

Got to the site, nothing damaged (single-phased) but I had to chase a fre**king, cr*pping, catbird out of the building ... didn't want it to die inside and stink up the place ...

Then, coming home, some dumbf**k (DF) decided that his time was more important than anyone else's life, so he decides to pass on a double-yellow, into the path of some oncoming bikers ...-

I don't know who had more crap in their shorts - me or the bikers!!!!

Anyways, I hit the binders hard enough that the ABS system was making sounds I never heard before, the bikers scattered enough that DF made it through them without a scratch...THEN THE CHASE BEGAN...

I was on my cellphone, the bikers were turning around and grouping to be sure they were alright...I managed to catch up to the numbnutz just enough to get a plate and vehicle description to the dispatcher, then I backed off...left enough info w/the dispatcher that when the officers nail this puke, I will write up a complaint.

I hope the bikers file a complaint, then visit the b*stard overnight. They're more entitled to visit that f*ck than I would be.

I hope it was some "jr." taking dad's work vehicle for a chick-drive and every cop that ever drove a bike is "visiting" his house. GEESH! What a father's day weekend that household will be having...

Anyways, about $75.00 of gas money shot for company (I have to wait a week for reimbursement - interest-free), the day's worth of wifey-time blown, I'm sticky (humidity's about 70%) and she's hungry...

Ahhhh, the life of a 50yo engineer...salaried...

Excuse me. I have to schlep off to bed now, I think. . . .
The summer season is extremly active for me. Its more or less one string of boating activities, partying afterwards, then working. I love it but am thankfull it ends before I die. It will slow down in October,(when everyone who can heads south) and the winter is a very pleasent slower pace. Although I usualy sail right up to December.

Got home at 10 again today!
