Girls Sneak out of Daycare to Make Candy Run

KARE Report

MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- Two four-year-old Minnesota girls are in hot water after they snuck out of their daycare to make a candy run.

The two left the daycare and crossed a busy four-lane road in Coon Rapids, Minnesota to get to the store.

When Sabrina Richards got a call from her daughter's daycare on Hanson Boulevard Monday she was shocked.

"You'll never believe this," recalled Richards.

New Horizons Academy said her four-year-old daughter Gabrielle had snuck out with another child to make the dangerous trek.

Mama Turf will tell you of a story when her sweet 3 yr old boy dragged his tricycle over a 6' chain link fence to cruise down the street to "Burger Chef" and get a meal before the cops showed up.

Yep, I got my little bootie spanked pretty good.

Reminds me of a personal experience many years ago. I was in 1st grade and 5 years old,,,, no kindergarden back then. At noon the teacher said all the kids who were going home for lunch could leave now,,, so I left. Home was only 7 miles away and I made it without a hitch. My mother wondered who was walking in the door in the middle of the afternoon though. This was 1950 if you have to know.

lol, a friend and I did a runner in Grade 1 as well. Got out of the school at the back of the playground and wandered into the adjoining neighbourhood.

An older woman found us happily strolling along and brought us back to school.

This was also my first trip to the principal's office.
