I used to have a wonderful little book called REMARKABLE NAMES OF REAL PEOPLE by John Train. He supposedly researched this and had proof that they were as advertised, names of real people.

A woman who gave birth at the hospital I used to work at in Jax called her daughter Placenta. She had heard the word used during the birth and liked the sound of it...

When I graduated there was a gentleman a few names after mine called Fuk Yu. Obviously it didn't mean the same thing in China, or wherever he was from, as it does here. The graduation was in Kentucky.
