Research Finds Firstborns Gain the Higher I.Q.
The eldest children in families tend to develop higher I.Q.’s than their siblings, researchers are reporting today, in a large study that could settle more than a half-century of scientific debate about the relationship between I.Q. and birth order. The average difference in I.Q. was slight — three points higher in the eldest child than in the closest sibling — but significant, the researchers said. And they said the results made it clear that it was due to family dynamics, not to biological factors like prenatal environment. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/22/science/22sibling.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin Just one more thing I can mention to my kid brother at our next GTG.;) |
I had always suspected as much. I'll have to send this to my little sister.

unfortunately, my older sister thinks the sun rises and sets with herself...so I am not sending this too her and you can't make me!

My younger brother is the doctor and millionaire...I must be the tragic genius in the family then...
|
Oldest brother is a real estate guru and a millionaire many times over and I still work for a living. Must be true in my case.

I, too, am proof positive.:)

My younger brother was a math wiz by birth, I had to acquire that skill with lots of hard work and pain, if research and generalization was to define humans and their trend, world today would be a predictive and sanitized place.

Ain't that the truth?!

thats totally funny.
My parents always told me I had a higher IQ than my older brother and then cased on me for not "applying myself" in school. Of course I'm the one who didn't drop out of Berkeley my freshman year and actually graduated from college. And he writes code - if thats any measure of intelligence! Ann |
