The mass media presents a chest-thumping political view of the world and that is all that most people ever consider. If you follow economic history you get a much more realistic picture of the way the world works than with political history. This film gives a perspective that most people will never see.

Just think of what this country could be if all of that money had been responsibly invested in our future.

That sums up the last 7 years with ease... and the fact that people aren't rioting in the streets because of it is what made me understand the amazing level of stupidity that I am surrounded by.

I have decided that instead of holding that stupidity at fault for the failures of this great nation I am going to use it to my advantage. I pray, each day, that things change, but until they do -- I must do as I do.

I saw the film. Ended up depressed and hopeless. War is our future.

Get the DVD and watch the extra features. In particular, be sure to see the one about "the missing C".

You have heard, all of your life, of the "the military-industrial complex". Now you get to hear the rest of the story, the suppressed part of the story.

After you watch it, ask yourself who killed JFK.

The Eisenhower parts on the military-industrial complex are very strong. But the film has so much powerful storylines: the F117 pilots vs the army recruit, Richard Perle vs John McCain, the NYPD policeofficer vs the Iraqi coroner, the US citizens vs Baghdad citizens. Okay, it does go a little overboard on a few moments, but overall a very convincing film. I reckon even MedMech would appreciate it....:P

Military supremacy is the American way because without it America would not be what it is today and the same goes for Europe and everyone else's ass America pulled out of the fire. Military supremacy became the American way because every European nation tried to wipe us out at one time or another...with a couple exceptions of course.

I wish there were no need for a military but there a few constants in this world that will never change.

You should see the movie. It is not about the need for military power, it is about profiteering.

I just ran into the DVD copie of that film...at my usual checkout ;) so, I will see it tonight, assuming everything goes according to plan.

There is a line on the front cover

"It is nowhere written that the American Empire goes on forever"

I hope there is more 'good stuff' in the package. Just to get confirmation on the above line, I wouldn't have to watch it.

I'll check it out. Personally I think money should be spent training Special Forces, the Men in Black can stops wars before they have a chance to begin.

I just read a book about American foreign policy and, although the author is somewhat biased against the US (even though he is American), it is a very interesting, well researched and detailed book about American military intervention all over the world in the last century.
I don't necessarily agree with his suggestion that the communists didn't have any plans on conquering as much territory as they can, but the book still provides a good insight.

"For those who want the details on our most famous -actions (Chile, Cuba, Vietnam, to name a few), and for those who want to learn about our lesser-known efforts (France, China, Bolivia, Brazil, for example), this book provides a window on what our foreign policy goals really are."
