Turn out that light and go to sleep! My mother would get after me for staying up all night reading, painting, and tinkering around with one project or another. Eventually, she began switching to circuit breaker to my room off after eleven.

Hold in your tummy. (That was mom). Work ethic things came more from Mom.

Don't be a sheep, don't just follow the crowd. (That was Dad....that one I maybe took to heart too much!;)) Original thinking things came from Dad.

That didn't come from my folks. I heard that somewhere else, but I always thought it was pretty funny.
