Mercedes 500E Poster!

Hi Everyone!
Here is a poster I made from a magazine clipping of the 92 Mercedes 500E. Countless hours where put in on the Photoshop reconstruction of this advertisement and now I'm ready to go to print.

Now, In order to keep the costs down for everyone I need at least 10 people to go in on this. In doing so, I can get them printed with an offset press versus a wide format inkjet as seen in the picture above. This will not only render better image quality but will also decrease the cost dramatically.

Here's my offer to MercedesShop members. If I can get 10 people to group buy I can offer you a glossy 18X24 poster for $30 plus $6.00 for shipping in the 48 states. If I can get 20+ people to buy I can do it for $20 a piece.

Below you will find additional photos of how this print will look laminated and framed. I do not offer this because shipping would not be easy. This will give you an idea of the quality though. Let me know if your interested.
Thanks!
Adam

I think they thought it was a good marketing ploy to say 55 in 5.5 I guess. Mine is faster than that though!

The marketing ploy..........failed. Nobody wants a "0-55" spec..........sounds like 1975.

The marketing ploy may be silly but I wouldn't say it failed. They sold every single 500E for around $85K.

I'm not a lawyer, but...

Wouldn't this be copyright or trademark infringement?

Just a thought.

It looks like a great project.

I am sure you could have plenty of takers for one of these at 500ecstacy, the website for those incredible cars.

You may not be a lawyer my friend, but you are good at spotting issues. (And not bad at picking Harley-riding companions).

Anyhow, the attached link (from Wikipedia, of course) is as good a layman's explanation of copyright and "fair use" as I've read.

Since my malpractice insurance will not allow me to give legal advice in areas of the law where I do not commonly practice, I will let the copyright lawyers here run with it. But good job at spotting issues!

Copyright and Fair Use

BTW, nice poster!

Jim B, did you get a chance to see your "sweety pie" playing Celebrity Jeopardy?

She is not only cute as a button (in a girl-next-door kind of look) but she is also a smart cookie.

Now when I close my eyes I can still see the crazed crack whore...oh never mind.

Dana wore eyeglasses, she looked so adorable and bookish!

TOMBSTONE was also recently on TV. Two Dana sightings in one week!

The other "mature" actress who looks extremely good is Linda Fiorentino. She was "scary" in JADE.

As noted previously, your taste in cars and women is impeccable!!!

Linda Fiorentino was indeed a piece of work, in that movie.

However I don't watch the tube much. I have just discovered Lee Child and the Jack Reacher series, these are Really good.

Sorry for the thread-jack; I think your coupe Beowulf is worthy of a poster shot. It is very dramatic looking in that color. And with that engine, it should run forever. Either run it stock, or look for the Sportline goodies.
Those 124 coupes were one of Mercedes best efforts ever, IMO

Nice poster, Poster.

I would bet good money (and I rarely bet) that MB has someone occasionally peruse all of the MB related sites from time to time to pick a few select enforcement battles. As this one gets a high # of hits, I would be very careful with your project or at least see if you can get your compilation (there is a hint) in compliance.

I agree.
It is well known in the Harley World, that HD aggressively protects its trademarks and other protected property, sometimes to the point of being absurd.
Harley a few years ago tried to patent (or trademark?)the "potato, potato" sound of it's 45 deg. V-twin.
Got nowhere in court mind you, but they tried.

I would be surprised if Mercedes Benz is no less aggressive in protecting it's property.
But it is a nice piece of artwork.
