Hyperwords for Firefox

I know there are some Firefox users here; I came across this nice little program for it. It makes Firefox an amazing browser!

Hyperwords

How did you get the program to install?

I tried, but it gives me a folder with seven files in it, that my computer doesn't know how to open. The files are .js, .jar, .rdf, and one .inf file.

I have no idea what software these files need to run.

Obviously my pc is an idiot.

I downloaded it again, and it didn't know what program to use to open it.

I selected Firefox, and it worked.

It collects usage (but supposedly not "user") information.
This is from the developers:
Hyperwords does tell our server which commands were used (search, translate, etc.), as well as what time of the day it was used, what browser version was used, and wether the mouse or the keyboard was used to select the command. Data is stored indefinitely, we do not have a current policy for data retention.

Read the licensing agreement. This data collection information is buried somewhere in there.
If it is a free plug-in it shouldn't collect any information, and shoudln't even have a licensing agreement. It looks a bit like spyware. Or they just want to make money from Google and Amazon and use FF users as their unpaid workforce.
I think I will pass on it.

Alex
